A new central heating boiler can make the winter tolerable
As the cold wintertime approaches the nights get longer and the coldness creeps in, so we must all be prepared, and the best way to do this is via a gas central heating system. If you have an efficient and safe central heating system installed you will enjoy the benefits of a comfortable and snug household.
Central heating systems, which basically comprise of a set of radiators, central heating boiler and pipework, can be segregated into two distinct classes, pumped systems and vented systems.
Popularly used are pumped systems which comprise of a main feed and expansion water tank that heats up and transmits the heat through pipework to secondary heaters (radiators). Due to heat, the water in the tank expands and fills it up.
The vented system on the other hand is a sealed system where there is no core heating. It’s basically closed, so there is really no need for any water tanks and the space they require. The major benefits from this type of system, is that it basically lessens the risk of leaking and stops other possible problems such airlocks, one of the better advantages, especially for colder countries is that there is no risk of pipes freezing up.
Tell me why I should get gas central heating?.
The primary benefit of gas central heating is that the entire home or office is warmed up rapidly, and that too, without adversely affecting the air around you. Before the central heating system came into existence, other heaters like electric and storage heaters were used to keep the house warm or even coal fires. However these heaters had a smell around them and they also affected the surrounding air, making it less pleasant as an interior environment.
These air quality issues were eliminated by gas central heating; but such a preferred environment can be ensured only by periodic servicing of the heating system to keep it running efficiently and safely. Spring and summer often sees these systems shut down and completely ignored, only to be abruptly turned on when a chilly wind blows in. Try to switch on your heating system during autumn so that if there is any defect, it can be fixed well before winters approach and fixed at a time when the plumbers are less busy.
Furthermore, some of these systems also give admission to air and dirt; therefore emptying is a necessity, which should be done regularly with an annual service schedule. The best way to do this is to place a bucket underneath the drain valve and slowly open it to release the water, but just make sure that no more air or dirt is making its way in.
