The advantages and disadvantages of the diverse central heating gas boiler models

There are a number of kinds of Gas Central Heating Systems on the market nowadays. Despite the different names basically these systems usually have copper pipework, radiators and a gas heating boiler.

In most parts of the UK air conditioning is hardly required because of the average temperatures of those regions. That is why in the UK most houses constructed these days are built with Central Heating Systems fully integrated into the home.

Central Heating is vital, especially as winter is fast approaching. While blizzards rage on outside, you can be safe and warm on the inside. Your Central Heating System must be fault free as much as possible and efficient to cut bills. It is essential to have peace of mind that your Central Heating System is not only practical to use but also safe.

Pumped/vented and sealed are the two main types of Central Heating Systems on the market.

Pumped/vented systems are the most common. The pumped/vented Gas Central Heating Systems have an expansion tank and a feed. Your house gets hot water through the stored hot water tank, it also supplies heat to the heating radiators. Water expands when heated; this expansion is accommodated in a feed-expansion tank. The tank is placed in the highest place, normally the loft area. It performs dual functions by providing hot water and heating up the house.

Most houses, especially the old ones will have a vented/pumped heating system.

A sealed system is now being used in the new houses that are being built. No water tanks are needed with the sealed system. There are no pipework or tanks also in the attic, the system is sealed in the true sense and it has its own advantages.

- There is no chance of pipes freezing in the attic.

- attic space is freed up and pipe maintenance is reduced.

- This diminishes the chances of a possible leakage.

- The risk of air locks, corrosion and gunk are reduced because there won’t be any air being taken down into the system through the open holes as the system is sealed.

- The main water pressure can easily be used to flush out a Sealed system for easy upkeep.

A sealed Gas Central Heating System is a system with the required controls and safety equipment all contained in one. The sealed system gets its water through the main water supply at pressure. It feeds directly from the main water supply.

A pressure vessel containing tightly packed gas can allow a sealed system to have normal fluctuations of pressure; a diaphragm serves as a barrier between the gas and water in the sealed system. If the pressure is very high in the system, then the water will escape from the safety valve, and if the pressure is too low, then the safety valve will open to let the water in.

Gas Central Heating systems are a great way to keep your house warm, also they don’t cost you as much as the other systems would. Their ease of operation and versatility is much better than other types of heating.
